is pilates preganancy safe?

The short answer is yes. Hattie is experienced in pre and post natal Pilates. Pilates and low impact movements are great to practice during pregnancy, however, please be sure to clear it with your doctor first as every body is different, especially during pregnancy. It is generally not recommended to start a new type of workout during pregnancy as your body is already going through enough changes. Pre and post natal Pilates is especially customized for each client. Contact us for more details!

what to expect for my first session

At the start of your first session, be prepared to discuss your fitness experience, goals and needs with Hattie and if you are recovering from any injuries, surgeries etc. The first workout is a basic full body reformer workout based on level, experience and any needs discussed with Hattie prior to the workout. Beginners will have a more introductory session on the body movements and reformer while advanced clients will be challenged with routines incorporating heavier weights, resistance bands, etc. Since each workout is customized, Hattie is always open to requests to better build workout routines and to provide the best workout experience as possible.

what should I bring to class?

You will need non-slip grip socks and workout clothes you feel comfortable in while moving around and stretching. Hattie’s Pilates has grip socks available for purchase if needed. HP also provides complimentary water and sweat towels but of course clients are welcome to bring their own.
